Confused here...is the price $35K, as per post above, or is it $25K, as per info on blogspot?

My guess is 35K and so it so it should be although a re-power awaits someday for the next owner probably. Its a great boat as is. However I look at it like this try comparing what this boat offers in the 25 foot range these days. Good luck , the boat over all is 30 but thats due to engine brackets and bow extensions. It rides like a 28-30 foot boat it has large cabin with a enclosed head it holds water and has a step up helm with molded lifted passenger and captain seating with factor teak lockable drawers in behind. Tons of unique extras such as a easy access pull out console on pin/hinges. Clever pull up and down seating, and over foot closer to 2 feet wide gunnels. Way over built fishing offshore and cruising vessel. Good value in this particular 25 foot boat.

No. Who are they? Does it matter?

The only thing that matters is whether Steve is asking $25,000 for his boat or $35,000

He has stated both prices and that is a BIG difference. Some clarification is in order.

Brian I caught that yesterday too. Interesting and to much of a stretch to be a just coincidence.

Edgewater Florida? Stephen Dougherty?

Everywhere else the boat is listed at $25,000 so, I assume it is a typo. $25,000 is a very nice price for that boat.

I thought the same as well when I read the ad plus there is a custom teak number pllate made up for the boat. I'm not sure many would do that unless. I did notice the factory railings missing either on purpose such as personal appeal or were damaged at some point. I couldn't find any obvious signs of holes in the gelcoat where the railing which is extensive would have been placed. Guess it could have been filled in color matched and polished out. If its 25k IMO that is a very good deal for that kind of boat. I would think it's still 35k and would be a bit surprised if it was lower. I have seen two of these in Vancouver with old black max motors sold for 45-50k a few years back. Market took a hit somewhere in there so things might have changed since.

I noticed the missing railings as well. I think they are key to getting forward of the cabin safely, and wonder it the seller still has them. This is one of my favorite Whalers, and seems to be in fine condition.

Sorry for the typo. It is $25k.

Does a trailer come with the boat?

GREAT boat at a great and honest price. Also some of the best photo documentation of a 25 Walkaround I have ever seen. Thank you posting all of the images. It's a rare boat with lots of details that most have never seen.

It's so cliche to say...but, I wish this was for sale 2 years ago when we bought our 23 Walkaround.

Someone will get an awesome boat. Good luck with the sale.

The teak number plate is the vessel's official number as issued by the Vessel Documentation Center. It is a Coast Guard documented vessel. Note the absence of state registration numbers.

The trailer does not come with the boat - too small for it and we use it as a yard trailer. I will be happy to help source a trailer and pass on the price. I can also help arrange shipping on a trailer if one isn't needed or you get one locally.

This boat is also on eBay. Search - 1991 Boston Whaler 25 Walkaround - 5 days left as of 5/31.

It was documented at one time by the original owner, whom I might add took AMAZING care of this boat. The owner said it has very low hours for the age. Before computers so we'll never really know how many. We have communicated with him via email and by phone - super man who LOVED his boat. It was then sold to a guy in NJ in 2010 or 11'ish(blue sticker on the side). We removed the numbers when we buffed the boat but left the stickers in the case we got stopped (which we did).

The railing was damaged. We are looking for a replacement before we attempt to fix it or make a new one - no promises that we'll have it by the time it sells. All holes were patched with color matched gel from Mini-craft - matched by the hull number.

Thanks for all of the kind comments. And yes, currently owned by Stephen.

Do you need a special permit to tow this boat.
Thanks. JJC

Well it is now official, the title has been transferred. This fine boat will be shipped to her new home port of Cheboygan, Michigan later this month. The Doughertys are wonderful people and great to work with. Their new business Bluewater Dynamics did a great job of putting Lucky Two (the boat's new name) in top shape.

Now the work begins of putting our own little touches to her.

the lucky new owners of Lucky Two

Don congratulations this model is wonderful and holds a bit of history as well. Hope you enjoy it. Do you think you will peruse changing the motors or just ride them out hopefully for a long time to come.

Martyn,

We plan to stick with the Yamahas for this summer. But we are going to peruse the option to repower next year.

Well if you need any advise I have first hand experience with this model but there are many knowledgeable contributors that would be happy to chirp in about what engines are best. Its always a fun discussion thats for sure.

Thanks Martyn, I will start a thread in the Whaler Performance section for the engine selection discussion.
