For sale: a Standard-Horizon VH-310 telephone style handset remote microphone and speaker with controls. This accessory works with many models of Standard-Horizon VHF Marine band radio. It has its own LCD display, a 12-key alpha-numeric keypad for data entry, and a 12-key keypad for function controls. It includes a sophisticated hanger bracket with magnet that operates a magnetic switch in the handset to detect when the handset has been removed from the bracket. This can be used to adjust the handset speaker volume so it does not blow your ear off. There is a coiled cord attached to the handset, and this connects to a bulkhead mounted connector. There is a long cord provided so the bulkhead connector can be located about 20-feet from the radio. I bought this new a few years ago, thinking it would be useful on my small boat. I only employed it for one short season. It is in as-new condition. I have all the original boxes, literature, accessories, mounts, cables, etc. There is a small square plastic mounting escutcheon that can be used as a surround for the bulkhead connector which has a small crack on one corner, but otherwise everything is in perfect condition. The VH-310 can be used with radios that support the Standard-Horizon RAM+ microphone, as far as I can tell. I do not believe that this design is still compatible with the very latest radios. Check with Standard-Horizon for more details. This is also very useful with the black-box radios from S-H like their PS2000 model. I used it with a GX1500S radio. Price: $120 |
