I restored this 1977 Outrage last winter and have had 2 good seasons with it but the motor failed and its just not worth me repowering the boat at this time. So I must sell as is, non-working motor but new trailer and good solid hull.

All the wood was restored last year, covered ever since.
Motor is 1998 Evinrude FICHT ocean pro 150 HP-ignition system bad
Boat has new bimini, maroon color
New color GPS Fishfinder, depth, speed, temp 5 " screen, Hummingbird
new aluminum gas tank installed last year, all new gas lines underneath, with new vent
new radio and speaks with digital connect
new RPS legs
New battery(west marine deep cycle)
Cushions in good shape, no holes or tears
solid hull with some minor imperfections and in need of a good compounding /waxing.

You say the ignition system is bad. Have you had the EMM checked? I have a '99 Ficht 90 and it quit running this summer. After a few attempts at different repairs, and still getting no spark and no running, I determined the EMM was bad. A dealer should be able to check the EMM and see if it is bad. If the EMM is bad, there is no spark and there could be other problems like fuel delivery or fuel pump operation. I changed plugs, fuel lines, had fuel pumps tested, all sorts of things before I found out the EMM was the problem.

I sent the EMM to DFI technologies in Alabama. The EMM is very easy to remove. They rebuilt the EMM and the engine runs like new now. Total cost was a little over $600. Not exactly cheap, but much less than a new motor.

That's exactly what it is, mechanic wants $1300 for it, thanks for the tip, I will check that lead out.

If you know an electronics tech, you may be able to get it fixed. The power capacitors usually fail first on EMM modules. Might also be able to find a board shop They are not hard to replace and cost very little.

Powergroove, go to DFI's website (they are the company in Alabama, not the other DFI) and give them a call. The guy I talked with was John, he was very helpful. I got the same estimate to replace the ECU in my 90hp Ficht, $1200. The mechanic I deal with actually sent an ECU he had to DFI after I told him about my experience.
