Hi Nick, What was the performance like on your 19 Revenge?
I am restoring a 1972 Outrage 21 (Ribside) and will be needing a motor. In your opinion would you recomment a 115hp for a 21' boat or go with more HP? The hull is rated for Max 200HP which I don't think I would put on it. I am on a budget and looking for used and well cared for motor. |

A 115 should be just fine for a 21 ribside so long as you are not planning to make long and repeated offshore runs. Tom W Clark's brother-in-law runs a 21 Ribside with a 90hp E-Tec and from what I remember Tom was impressed with how well it did. |

115 is great for the ribside. even if you want to make long offshore runs. with the old ribside, fuel consumption was the major concern, not speed. you just can't go that fast in a ribside offshore if there is more than a foot or so of chop unless you are a serious masochist. a 115 will easily get you over 30mph lightly loaded. |

It should be good for 38-39 MPH on an Outrage 21. |

Tom, Would my Ribside require a 20" or 25" shaft? Does a hydraulic jack plate allow the transom to use either?Danny |

You need a 20" shaft. |

20" shaft - or a 25" with a jack plate. 115 is plenty of beef. |
