For the past month a old 13 has been sitting on view in the lot of Hoods Home Discount Center in Foley, Alabama a few miles North of Gulf Shores. There was no telephone number provided on the sign but the number for Hoods is 251-943-1801. The boat owner can possibly be contacted via that number.
The boat is sitting on a much newer galvanized trailer that looks pretty good. The tires look new. The engine is a 25 HP Suzuki. The boat looks pretty good and I would buy it if I did not already have more than I can really take good care of. I don't know the vintage but I believe it is earlier than my 1981 13. It has a small wood console that looks like mahogany and three nice thwarts of the same wood. There are two mahogany side pieces that look a lot like those on my 13. The thwarts are thick and look new. There is no steering system on the boat. The rubrail is missing and there is some minor damage to the forward area where the rubrail would cover. The deck is painted and the paint is flaking off. What I could see looked good. A cursory inspection of the hull and transom showed no obvious damage. The registration sticker is dated 2008.
I could not see any builders number but the transom had some paint on it. There was a sort of splashwell. It was full depth and was like a second transom. On outside of the transom were two indentations that resembled a wedge. The trailer was on muddy water so I didn't get under the boat
I suspect someone could have a lot of fun with the boat. If interested I suggest you not delay.
