FELLOW WHALER OWNERS, do you own a 2002-2008 210 Outrage that has forward bow bolster/coaming pads? I'm loooking for a fellow whaler owner/nut who is willing to help me out. Boston whaler doesn't have the patterns anymore and neither does Anderson Manufacturing/upholstery in Titusville Florida (Space Coast) (BW said they would be the only people who might have these patterns). Anderson can make/replicate the OEM forward bolsters but they need a pair of original forward bolsters to make patterns from. I'm hoping a fellow 210 Outrage owner who lives in Florida near the Space Coast would be willing to snap off their forward bolsters and take them to Anderson so patterns can be made. No damage would be done to your bolsters and they would be returned to you within a few days and in the same condition as you drop them off, if not better should they need minor repairs. I'd be willing to compensate you for your time, mileage, hassle, etc. If you own a set and are willing to help me out but don't live near Anderson and/or in Florida, I would also compensate you for your shipping costs to and from Anderson.

If you can help me I'd really appreciate it, please reply to whalertodd@gmail.com to discuss further.

I strongly recommend you NOT to install one .Just another piece on the boat to maintain and clean. It will collect water, dirt, and mildew.

Now if you already decided to do one why you need original pattern. All you need is one or two long pieces of 1/4 inch king starboard that will be padded with foam and vinyl.Whaler( or any fabricator ) will do same thing anyway.Bolsters are attached with specialty hooks that are drilled into side of the bow .King starboard has 2 inch holes so you can hook them up.
Any marine fabricator will know how to do this_they do this for living.

Did I already say dont do it.
How about some portable cushion that you can hang from bow rail when you need it and remove when you dont. If you have low profile bow rail it will be perfect.

I have 2005 210 and have side gunwale bolsters and wish they werent there.Constant maintenance and they are ready for replacement.

Todd, Andrew makes some valid points about maintenance. However, if your passengers (read: women and children)are making use of the bow of the boat to relax the bolsters will make up for the extra labor.

Andrew, let me know if you want to get another set of gunnel bolsters. I plan to and maybe we can get a break on multiples. Doesn't sound like you would be interested though.

Thanks Andrew for your thoughts and opinions. I used to have a 210 but reluctantly had to sell it to cover some unexpected costs. My previous boat had the bow bolsters which both my wife, kids and I liked a lot. Fortunately I never experienced any of the problems you experienced. I boat in fresh water, I constantly wash and clean my boats (it's my summer therapy) and they are also stored on open but covered lifts. I've since purchased another 210 that doesn't have the bow bolsters which my family still wants to have. Thankfully I've been contacted by another CW member and he's offered to help, he lives in FL., owns a 210 Outrage and also needs some upholstery work performed by Anderson. Unfortunately these bow bolsters aren't cheap so if anyone wants to sell theres I'd definitely be interested in buying a used set but only if it's in the very near future. Otherwise I'm planning to move forward the first week of April by accepting the CW member's help that he generously offered me this morning.

Todd to each of its own.
My boat is spotless too and I spend considerable amount of time cleaning it. Have kids and wife seating there all the time but they never complained about discomfort.
For years I have a problem of figuring out back bolster for that forward seating facing forward ( like sea hunt did on their 20-23 cc ) .It looks like car seat headrest that you slide into two drilled holes and get instant backrest. But end of whaler seating is very narrow so this kind of configuration wouldnt work. Finally I saw at the boat show manufacturer who figured this out. Look at Tidewater new 280 CC and that back rest that is installed on side wall and flips out when you need it and folds back when you dont.
Will be ordering two of them as soon as they become available for purchase.

Fno- yeah on my third 210- my first one got entire cushion replacement - I personally hate whaler sand and white scheme and ordered white with blue piping. Those 2 side gunnel bolsters were 300 from my local vinyl and canvas fabricator. You can see how they look like on you tube.Type boston whaler 210 and my video is under vze2gbs4.
I would order same white blue piping again when time comes for replacement.

For the record I think 210 outrage is as perfect of the boat as you can get. If there is one thing I would like to change it will be that forward seating. I would eliminate it entirely and wish for open flat bow.More room and boat will feel like 28 footer. When I need seating would take fold-able chairs from my dock box.
