Wish I had $21k to give you... Good looking boat and my wife would love the cushions and stern seat. |

Thanks! I'm wondering what everyone thinks, do we think it is priced way to high or a little too high? I have not had much response and overall the boat is great, and I thought very popular and hard to find? Any thoughts? Thanks, |

Well, the BoatTrader ad says $25K, so if the price is really $21K you should change it. I don't have a strong sense for the value of 22s, but I'd think a good condition bare hull might be around $8K. If that's about right, then you're asking people to $6500 apiece for those older motors - pretty steep. And not getting offers is a pretty clear indication the price is too high. |

OK, having looked at the pics in more detail, that's a really nice boat, in really nice shape. I'm going to up my estimate of the boat without motors, to $11K - that's in Florida, where there are plenty of boats for sale. That still leaves you looking to get $5K each for 13-year old motors, with more than half their useful life gone. And keep in mind that savvy buyers know that Optimaxes are not as desirable as newer technology, particularly when it comes to noise. This may be one of the rare situations where you can do better selling the boat and motors separately - get $3K for each motor, and then the boat itself might look a lot more desirable to someone who's going to repower anyway. You should hold your price at $21K and see what offers come your way. I feel guys on this board are always looking for some thing cheap as possible. 1000 hours on these motors are nothing, you should have an easy 1500 hours of life left (the average person may put 50 to 100 hours on a boat per a season). The boat looks to be in better than fair shape for her age. Since the bottom is painted, I would put some fresh paint on her and not take less than $18K. You have a rare quality boat that has a Whaler Drive, super console and several accessories that many would die for. Hold tight if you can and the right Whaler nut will follow, you need that special person. $8K-$10K on the hull |

I had a notch transom 22 outrage with a single yamaha, t top, leaning post, electronics, no bottom paint, dual axle trailer. I had no luck trying to sell in north florida. I sold it to a guy 8 hours away. Price approx. 9500. I bought a 22 outrage with whaler drive. T top, electronics box, full cover, curtains, leaning post, good wood like yours, single yamaha, no botton paint, dual trailer, outriggers, electronics. Purchased in north florida. Paid 15k. All within last 3 years. FWIW. Good luck on your sale! |

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions, I agree with most of the evaluations and I'm considering all offers. Thanks, |

There was one for sale in our area which always seems to demand more than normal for boats especially Boston Whalers. It was identically setup but with a t-top but powered by original Yamaha two strokes. It eventually went for 15-18 range. It had about 500 original hours. Still needed quite a bit of tlc clean up. New trailer. |
