I have a friend with an early 1970's Boston Whaler 13 Sport. He became tired of his old two stroke 40 horse, so I helped him find a deal on an F40. Recently advised me that it is too much weight (unable to get skeg out of water at dock), and is too much power. Installed last November and has 13 hours on it. He is considering selling and replacing with a 25 horse. I have no idea of the value, and he is a good friend. He has owned an eighties model Montauk, sold, and is now an owner of a newer model BW 20, as well. Anyone looking? zotcha.

Where is the motor located? Are the controls set up for tiller or remote? If remote are the controls included? Does the motor have power tilt/trim? |

Swab, I BELIEVE she has trim and tilt. I do not believe it is set up for a tiller. |

I did not realize how much money a 40 costs! He has $6800 total invested and I removed the old 40 two stroke for him. I realize that me need for an F70 is going to be about 8200, but I was surprised. Just serviced and new water pump installed this spring. States he would prefer an F25, but is not willing to take a beating. Boat is located in Bluffton, SC, gateway to Hilton Head Island. zot |

Swab, he would likely keep all controls and cables. Where are you located? zot. |
