I am considering the sale of my 1989 [OUTRAGE]. Have enjoyed more than a decade of ownership and think it may be time to move on (up to something larger). The skinny: 1989 Boston Whaler Outrage with RPS. All teak is in excellent condition. Boat was stored indoors for most of its life. It was finally bottom-painted and docked seasonally in 2012. Gelcoat is, overall, in very good condition. Never damaged. Power: 1989 oil-injected 150HP Black Max. Not sure of the hours. Engine looks and runs great. Was out today for the last day of the season. Fantastic. It has never let me down. Trailer: Original galvanize bunk trailer in good working order. It's not pretty, but it does the trick and does it well. Recently re-wired with LED lights. Happy to answer questions and take and send photos. Very interested in thoughts on proper asking/selling price. Happy boating. Ian |

Pictures would certainly help but as far as recent local transactions go, this one is listed as sale pending http://www.boattrader.com/listing/ 1987-Boston-Whaler-18-Outrage-2004-Yamaha-102062434 And there was another one in Maryland with a F150 that sold for $9500 I believe. Pics were not great so can't comment on the condition but I'm guessing it was beat up hoe that helps |

Thanks for the info. Mine is in better overall condition than the one pictured on BT. |

An attractive feature on the BT boat is the late model power. The varnish is in poor condition and I didn't see a trailer. Lack of a trailer to go with an 18 foot boat detract from the value by a least $2,000 if I were a buyer. The boat also looked a little dirty for a boat for sale ad. Butch |

"And there was another one in Maryland with a F150 that sold for $9500"... I'm pretty sure thats not an F150 (aka 4-stroke). I'm not even sure its fuel injected... Still a newer, and obviously more valuable engine... |

The engine in the BT ad is not a F150, I agree with that. I'm taking about another boat I saw an ad for. The seller returned my call to tell me it got sold, he told me he got full asking which I think was $9500 if I remember correctly. The ad is down now, but it pretty clearly stated it was a 4 stroke yam. From the pictures of the hull, it looked like it was in rough shape though. Anyway, here are the other current Outrage 150s for sale in the area. You should be able to price it based on this competition. Keep in mind that these have all been on the market for a while now so no one it chomping at the bit to buy them. Boston Whaler 18 outrage /150 Johnson - $10750

At this point you'll probably need to wait until Spring to sell it. I have bought and sold two Outrage 18s in the last 15 years in this area and would need to see pictures of the boat, motor and trailer to do a proper evaluation. I think this is your closest competition -- Boston Whaler 18 outrage /150 Johnson - $10750 |
