I hope JimH permits this. I'm posting on behalf of my employer, MarineMax, not myself. I stand to make nothing from this sale except gain some elbow room in my warehouse, attaboys from my bosses, and maybe make a fellow Whaler owner happy.

We have a NEW 2013 Mercury Verado 175 sitting in our warehouse with an unusual story.

A customer bought it in Feb of 2013 for us to rig on his boat. He misrepresented the boat we'd be installing it on- it did not have a legitimate US Coast Guard certification or a plate indicating the maximum horsepower that could be installed. This creates all sorts of liability and warranty issues for both Marinemax and Mercury. Unfortunately for us, we didn't catch it until we'd actually bolted the motor up to the boat and activated the warranty period. We couldn't sell it to the customer, so the deal fell through, nor can we return it to he factory. Expensive lesson learned.

It's now been sitting on a stand for two years, and we'd like it gone.
My bosses have directed me to post it on eBay, and thought I'd share it here as well.
