1983 Boston Whaler Montauk 17, 1988 Evinrude 90 carbureted 2-stroke engine and Tracker marine galvanized trailer. Whaler has high bow rail, console, original z-leg seat with teak back. Boat has a great power / weight ratio and will do about 40 mph.Boat is fully functional (and unsinkable) and in great shape for its age. The gelcoat is original and in reasonably good shape with some spider cracks typical for this age boat and has been repaired along the front and starboard gunwale. Numerous screw holes have been repaired and sealed with Marine-Tex and touched up with beige enamel paint. See closeup photo. The original teak wood is in good condition but a bit faded with age. Seat is worn but fully functional. Windshield is good. Bow rail is good. Helm was replaced 2 years ago. Steering, throttle and shift cables work smoothly. Bow and stern lights will be connected. Has a strong automatic bilge pump. Tachometer works great. Dash was recently refinished and looks good. Has an anchor, fire extinguisher and 2 PFDs. Battery is strong and holds a good charge. Front seat is an igloo 94 quart marine cooler with a padded seat. The starboard rubrail is missing. There is a 12-gallon Moeller tank under the seat but there is room for an additional 12-gallon Moeller tank.
Engine was overhauled in 2012 and runs well with less than 50 hours since rebuild. Compression is strong and consistent. Carbs work well. Water pump is 2 years old. Engine has a stainless steel prop. Engine was recently repainted. VRO was disconnected. Uses pre-mixed 50:1.
Trailer is marine galvanized and fits boat great. Lights will be replaced.
I have clean title to the hull.
