Hello,

I am very close to purchasing a 1998 Conquest 21' with a same model year Mercury 200hp EFI outboard engine. The survey of the hull and engine came back very good, but the compression, although even, is at 98, 95,100 and 100, 100, 100. Should I be concerned, of the absolute numbers, since the variance is very good?

The boat is being sold at $10,500, including a two-axle trailer.

Thanks,
Rafael

The price seems low and could be based on hull only. However you determined though a survey that the boat and engine were good. At least where I live if that hull checks out to be good condition the price alone would be very tempting just to re power and enjoy a good boat at a great price for years to come.

Thanks for the reply. The title had a lien, thus the low price. I was looking for a 17ft. Whaler, but purchased the boat anyways, since the overall cost, including the lien was still good.
