Can anyone supply or tell me where I can obtain a dimensioned drawing for the fuel tanks used in a 1985 22 foot long Outrage.
I believe they were 80 gallons standard with an option for 120 Gallons.

Does anyone manufacture a plastic
or nylon replacement tank for this model.

Thanks

Richard

spk2,
I have a 129gal. tank from a 22' Raider that I can measure and mail or fax a dimensional drawing. E-mail your address or fax number.

I was told that original aluminium built-in tank for your era boat was made by Tempo, 77 gallons, but no longer available. I also understand that Whaler's current supplier, Florida Marine Tanks, can make one for you.
West Marine also advertizes Skyline Industries as able to make one. The tank is rectangular in cross section, with a Vee bottom shape.

Stay with aluminium. That is still the best material for a belly tank, and still being used in Outrages. Don't know why they switched to plastic in the Dauntless models.

I know someone who has the large capacity tank in a 22, and he hates it! The extra gallonage was accomplished by removing the stern bait well and extending the tank sternward. Say's it puts WAY too much weight in the stern, especially with his twin 115's. If you need more capacity in a 22, use a 28 gallon tank under the Reversible Pilot seat.

My 86 22 revenge has a 160 gallon tank, I think. This weekend a filled it up when my tank was showing half full. I put in right at 80 gallons. It is an aluminum tank, I wonder if this is correct? Was that an option back then?

Steve: My 1986 Price Book shows an optional tank of 129 gallons, @ $655. You'll know if you have it because you won't have an aft bait well. Never count on the floor gauge for being accurate, except on a repeat basis, and for reliability. They read differently in every Whaler ever made. My 25 Outrage shows half full @ 50 out of 140 gallons!

Incidentally, the list price on your 22 WT was $20,260.

Steve,
Larry is correct about the 129gal. tank. We have this tank in DIVE 1 and it fills the entire belly cavity. The boat is also very stern heavy with the big tank and twin outboards.
