I have a homemade console with the fuel tank in it under a seat on the front of it - I put my Racor in the console - works fine and keeps it out of the elements... |

I am finaly going to install mine this weekend. It's going on the port side of the splashwell. As I have a stern seat it will be protected from getting bumped, kicked or whatever. Without the stern seat I would probably mount it on the inside of the transom. Put it where it is easy to change the filter and as out of the way as possible. Regardless the weather is not going to hurt it. Dick |

GV, I just mounted my Racor fwd on the motor well of my Montauk. This is just above where the drain plug is located. I am having a carpenter make a thwart bench seat which will go from port outer lip to stbd outer lip (60 inches X 14"). This will somewhat hide the Racor plus add seating and a standing platform for fishing. Also when not using my stern light I plan to stow it on the bottom side of the seat. Rex |
