DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE POWER TILT/TRIM ON MY RECENTLY PURCHASED 86 13FOOT WAS RECALLED. IT SEEMED TO HAVE ROTTED AWAY.AND CAN I FIND ONE THAT WOULD WORK.

they all rot eventually, unfortunately. What exactly do you need?

I BELEIVE I'M NOT TO SURE WHAT IT IS CALLED YET. I WENT TO THE MARINE STORE TO PICK UP A MANUAL AND THEY ORDERED THE BOOK FOR ME. THE PART IS TO THE LEFT OF THE PISTON. THE PISTON LOOKS OK BUT I HAVEN'T REALLY INVESTIGATED IT YET.WOULD YOU KNOW OF HOW MUCH SOMETHING LIKE THAT WOULD COST.THANKS FOR THE REPLY. AND BY THE WAY THIS SITE IS GREAT.

Depends on engine. That is the pump. Piston should be good. Might want to have it looked at. Kind of a pain to replace if not familiar with it. Can be anywhere from $150-400 for the part alone.

WELL I WAS TALKING TO THE PREVIUOS OWNER HE SAID IT'S THE MOTOR WHICH IS ALL ROTTED. HE SAID THE PUMP IS GOOD. ANY IDEA OF A PRICE FOR THE MOTOR. THE ENGINE IS A 40 HP YAMAHA.

Ouch! unfortunately. Depending on year they might make them aftermarket now(I think they do) count on $200.

Ooops! try NAPA and see if Sierra makes one.
