You can figure on keeping all of your bends at a minimum radius of 8 inches. With that in mind, you should be able to figure the length of cable you need. I just did this swap on my Minot (same console as the Katama) and I used an 18 foot cable. That gave me a nice big loop under the console and the loop kept the cable out of my way. Hopefully, somebody out there has done this swap on the Sakonnet and they can tell you what length cable they used and what kind of interference problems they encountered in the console.

I seem to recall that the cable size for a mahogany consoled 16' Whaler is 15'? Anybody else?

On the 65 Nauset I refinished this year I used 16ft cable.
