Topic:   Can Anyone Recomend a Yamaha Mechanic

posted 01-28-2002 09:06 PM ET (US)         Can anyone recomend a Yamaha mecanic (not a dealer) in Westchester Counry (NY), Long Island or Lower Connecticut? I just aquired a pair of '89 150 Yamahas - one is seized and the dealer quoted me $7000 for a new powerhead from Yamaha. Being a Yamaha dealer, he can't install a rebuilt unit for me. The other unit has good compression, but is missing the Carburator. I would like to rebuild these engines, but do not want to spend as much as buying a new pair would cost. Thanks.
