I am considering buying a 15 ft sport that needs a new rub rail. does anyone know how much they cost to purchase and what is a reasonable price for the installation? thanks

The rub rail kit is available through a Boston Whaler dealer. The part number is 500-05005 and the price should be around $100.00 +/-.
The installation is not difficult but very time consuming so paying an hourly rate it could get spendy.

Most classics need them or will need them soon. They get brittle. My 89's is overdue but I don't have the time just yet.

I replaced mine back last fall. I ordered it from Twin Cities marine (their number is under the brass drain tube thread) It was around 100 bucks with a little shipping. Take your time with this job and be careful working around the bow light. Good luck.

I've done this repair before on a 13 footer. What helps is if you lay the new rub-rail out in the sun for a while before installation, this softens the rail and makes it much more pliable!
Good Luck, Jim:

I'm in agreement about getting the kit warm first. I did a 13' a few years ago and the coils that the kit comes in need to be opened up and "solarized" to make life easier.
