It's too cold to work on the Whaler so I decided to check out the 25 HP Evinrude (not running) that came with the boat.
The owner of the boat passed away last year and the wife only knew that the motor was not running.I have not put gas to it yet. The motor turns over, I can put it in rev, N and fwd and can tell the lower end is working. I suspect the original owner was trying to get to the impeller as the 4 bolts are missing that holds the lower end to the shaft.. http://www.sweetbreeze.com/evinrude.htm
Can someone give me an idea how to get the lower end off or where I can get info on this motor?

There are several after market work books for your engine,,all are good and easy to follow,
Looks like some one was trying to get to tdhe water pump, shift linkage has to be loosened first at top of shaft, below power head,,,,,get a book first,,Good Luck

Hi JohnAz,
I'm not certain if this is the original motor.. how can I tell the year of this 25 HP Evinrude in order to buy the right book?
