I need to fix my drain hole on a 13' whaler that rotted out last year. Any suggestions on how to repair it? I am curious to hear any suggestions on sealants I should use or any other pertinent product?
Thanks

Seen this thread before. Use plastic... If you set the articles to look for the last 2 years, then use "EDIT" "FIND ON THIS PAGE" and search for drain tubes, you'll find the last discussion.

I recently did this. I put in simi-flexive pvc pipe in the top two holes, and a piece of flexible reinforced tubing(a thick clear like rubber with some type of reinforcement woven in). I found these at Home Depot. They were about 9/16 diameter so I had to drill out the holes slightly. I didn't have a 9/16 bit. I had a grinding bit a took off just enough to ensure a snug fit. I sealed them in use 5200 marine sealant. Look like it is going to work fine. It was fairly simple to do after you find the tubing. Good luck.

I assume you where talking about the bow drain holes. If you were talking about the rear drain holes - sorry.

My drain tube was shot, so I replaced it with PVC and sealed with 5200. Cheap & easy!

I used a wooden dowel to knock the old, corroded tube through.

good luck.

I repaired my transom drain after the boatyard screwed it up. They had put in a non-standard (too large diameter) pipe. I enlarged the holes a bit more to fit a piece of schedule 40 PVC and sealed that in with 5200. The drain tube was a perfect fit within the PVC, and was sealed in after the first part of the repair dried. It's been 16 months, and I haven't seen any water dripping from the repair when the boat's back on the trailer.
