Does anyone have any experience replacing the long bilge drain tube on a 15' Whaler? I've read the posts on the short (3") ones but haven't seen anything on the long ones. Given the length you would have to install from the outside and peen the inside. Any tricks on doing this in the tiny bilge area?

Check with your local Whaler dealer, the new style nylon/plastic tubes should be available, Easy to install and never have to be replaced.

BW says the plastic ones are only available for the short (3") tubes that drain the engine well, not the long one from the bilge. I was looking for info on replacing the long one.

Why in the world would they say that I wonder? I replaced the Montauk bilge tube. About 12 inches long as I recall.

Funny, my whaler dealer said it was available, then ordered one and got the wrong part. At the same time the wrong part came in, a plastic version came in. Dad noted how the plastic one was constructed and we made our own... Get the Plastic version. Call a real BW dealer if your local one thinks it's not available! Some of the BW dealers I have dealt with didn't really want to talk to me since I didn't own a SeaRay!

This dealer is said to know whalers: Sue is the parts manager
