i own a 1980 17' boston whaler montauk. i am refurbishing it. the escutcheon that covers the steering mechanisim as it comes out of the dash is all corroded. the steering wheel is a s/s 5 spoke destroyer type with a wood hub cover & with the following dimensions:
Steering wheel:
16" dia., 5-5/16" spokes
hub:
diameter - 3 1/2" (Top) & 4 1/4" (Bottom) & Height 1 3/4"
it's installed on a new teleflex "Safe-T" steering system

Why don't you just clean it up and repaint it?
I did mine when I redid the console side plates. The escutcheon on mine was cast aluminum. I wire brushed it good and painted with textured rustoleum.

FastFreddy,

I'm unclear what you are asking. Do you need a steering wheel or the bezel for the helm?

The wheels are readily available. If you want the original you need a six spoke "Destroyer" type wheel from Grant Marine Products See: http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum6/HTML/000108.html for more details of the wheel.

If you're looking for a bezel they are available from any place that sells the steering system like West Marine.
