Any recommendations regarding re-finishing the bow light on my 65 Nauset. It is sound but the crome is wearing away and it has some pitting. The lens also is a little cloudy.

Look in your Yellow Pages under "Plating". You will find many businesses that can re-chrome your bow light.

You might want to price out a new part as re-chroming is not inexpensive.

However, It may not be possible to find a perfect form-fit replacement for the bow light.

Replacing the lens may also be troublesome. I found this to be the case on the bow light of my 82 13'. Since I could not find a lens, I used red and green permanent magic markers to recolor the inside of the clouded lens. It isn't perfect and not especially pretty, but it works. And, I fits the existing bowlight perfectly. If anyone knows where I can get a perfect replacement lens, I would appreciate the heads up.

Here's one outfiot that does a lot of long distance work.

They are very well regarded, though expensive.

My '83 Montauk had a Perko light on it which I just replaced. I found a perfect match to the original at West Marine.
