Getting more than usual amount of trash in the carbs so I have decided to install water seperators.
Need to know the best spot to mount a water seperator on a 13 and 15 whaler. Would like to keep it out of the way so that sliding gas tanks wont knock it off while underway. Have bench seating on both....under one of the seats perhaps?

All useful comments are welcome. Thanks in advance.

You don't really need fuel/water separator with this set up. Rec- changing gas stations and maybe an inline filter- 2 bucks at Pep Boys. .03 David

thought of that too....but I have heard that those inline filters can shatter if slapped around and also have a bad habit of degrading causing reduced fuel flow........

Not the gas, marina just invested in new fuel tanks......

Carbs are so much smaller on these engines ....a 30 and a 50 that I am thinking it may go along way to having to clean the carbs evry season or so.

I know there are folks on this forum who have installed them....any help here?

Thanks

I will take the lack of responses to my question as an indication that no one on this post uses water seperators on these 2 models of whaler.

The filter on my Montauk is mounted on the back of the splash well. It might fit there on your 13/15 as well.

Most fuel-water separators are located on the inside of the transom, either inside or outside the splash well.
