Does anyone have a wiring diagram for an '89 Revenge 22? I took off my access panel, and was suprised to find that the previous owner preferred solderless connections (twist & tape). Eventually the tape failed, now I have loose wires dangling everywhere. And the hits just keep on coming!

Mike -

Looks like no immediate responses with the right info...

I don't have the wiring diagram. But if you describe what you have, I might be able to look at mine & tell you what you need to know. Or where something needs to go. Won't be a quick process as I've been tasked with painting the girl's room, living room, dining room, and hallways. Fortunately(?), its supposed to rain for the next three months, then change to snow...

What instruments do you have on the dash? I have tach, voltmeter, oil tank level, engine temp, speedometer, engine hour meter. For instruments: GPS, LORAN, fathometer, VHF, electric compass, stereo.

Just thinking about mine... its a rats nest, but its all working.

I have seen a number of requests for the "wiring diagram" of particular Whalers. In general I don't think there is a great deal of magic in the wiring as it came from the factory. Most likely the dealer or owner installed most of the electricals and they won't be on any diagram from Whaler.

A Whaler typically consists of a current source (the battery) a master circuit breaker, a distribution buss, some fused switches, and just a few circuits for lighting.

My REVENGE (1987) has just a NAV LTS circuit (OFF-ANCHOR-RUN) and a COMPASS LT circuit (OFF-ON). The third panel switch was just marked ASSY and the owner or dealer used it for something that he fancied.

It is very easy to re-wire the console.
Just take all the wiring out. Take the panels out.Sit down at a workbench and make one common ground for all. Then one by one identify the sender wires for each gauge, then set up all the hot's to a fuse or breaker.Enjoy a beer or coke, take your time.
It will turn out beautiful!
Also a little tip, dont use whalerboard for making panels.Just buy a poly cutting board, cut to size and use a router to shape the edges. You will save 1000%
My .02 if that's OK

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Chuck Bennett sent me a chart that lists the wire colors & their intended useage. This will be a great help in chasing down wires, especially when they enter a wiring harness. I'm putting the chart in HTML format in case Jim would like to add it to the site. I'll email it later today.
