I purchased a 1979 13 footer. The previous owner removed all the interior and installed a new side console, rear fiberglass boxes for seats and a front elevated bass seat. All of the wood seats, console etc. are gone. I just found out that he still has the original side rails but they are designed specifically for the original layout with the rear seat being held by a portion of rail that connects the rearmost portion of the side rails together. If anybody is familiar with this layout I am wondering if I can modify the side rails to fit my present layout... ie. can I cut and fit them with the addition of a standoff and base plate and reattach them...

Ray, The normal configuration for "side rails" has them bent in a downturn on both ends....the rail you are descibing does not do this, it instead turns and goes across the seat back. I think you would be better off looking for actual side rails. Having said that.....is the old rail off yours available? I could use that style on my rebuild. Dave

I would like his email for a rebuild on a '67 Sport. Thanks,
