Author	Topic:   AM/FM stereo cd player for 18ft outrage
SaltyDog	posted 11-10-2002 07:20 PM ET (US)         Does anyone have any suggestions on which brand of stereo I should install on my 1986 18ft outrage. The stereo head unit will occasionaly get splashed so it has to be at minimum water resistant and a good shock good would also be required. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks. - Chris
Barry	posted 11-10-2002 08:42 PM ET (US)             I've read good reviews on some of the poly-planar and Sony units. I've also read good reviews of the Bose and poly-planar Platinum Series speakers.
David Ratusnik	posted 11-10-2002 09:27 PM ET (US)             .03 Go to West, Boat Us, or Boaters World and buy the unit on sale. Pick up sealed speakers. The high end units or the on sale units ALL go south in 2 1/2 yrs, especially if exposed. David
Ferdinando	posted 11-10-2002 11:22 PM ET (US)             Saltydog: I bought a 1998 Montauk brand new and installed a Standard Horizon CD player, it is dash mounted and exposed to the elements, that was 4 yrs ago and it's still going strong...... Good Luck Fred
