I am in the process of building a mahogany frame to attach a windshield from a 13"SS Lmtd. on to my 1986 SS. The frame is roughly 1"x1" and fits inside the plexiglass. My thought is to attach the frame to the windshield with screws and then screw the frame onto the top of the console. However, when I saw recent descriptions of mounting other windshields, I saw the potential need for a shoulder nut or some other device to keep the vibrations from cracking the holes in the windshield. However, since I am going to screw directly into wood, is there a bushing I should instead of the nut? Thanks for your expert advice. T_Bro |
