I added a reply to a rather long topic so I'll start fresh.
To those that have had a fuel tank replaced in a mid 80s Outrage, what was the average cost and time involved? And, what type of tank did you go with?
I don't quite consider this a DIYer(speaking for myself).

I have the deck plate off of my Outrage right now and am pondering the same issue. Wondering about cost.

I have the 24' OR with twin 70 gal tanks. I was quoted $600 each from Florida Marine Tanks in Miami, Florida. They also have facilities in Dexter, Missouri. They were recommended to me by the BW factory. They said that they either currently or use to make tanks for the Outrages. Their number is 305-620-9030 and their website is www.fmtanks.com

I replaced my 63 gallon tank and re did the floor on a 1985 18 foot outrage. It was a massive job for a newbe like myself. Well worth the end results. I will look up my numbers and post soon. Tank was purchased then shipped ( to MA) via Florida Marine... have many photos as well.
