Getting the boat ready for spring (88 montauk with yamaha 90). Wondering if I should send prop to be serviced? I ahve had the boat 1 season and did not do it last year. Doesnt appear to have any major damage, seems to run ok last year. Is this a waste of $ or a good idea?

Apparently the propeller had been used for 15 years without damage--which may be a record in the recreational boating industry.

It might be prudent--stress on "might"--to get the propeller re-hubbed. The 15-year-old rubber could be shrinking a bit.

But if all the blades are intact and there is no sign of damage, you could choose to wait until you strike an underwater object before getting it repaired.
