I noticed a hydraulic fluid leaking out around the trim piston on my 87'Evinrude 90 V4. Is repair possible or replacement inevitable? What is involved in replacement? I am mechanically capable but should this be performed by a mechanic only? Please advise.

I've searched with no luck. Please advise.

I have replaced one on a 200hp Johnson and it was a real pain. My advice is to change it at home where you have all the tools and a first aid kit to repair skinned knuckles.
If the bolts are rusty spray many times with WD-40 to break loose. Don't do it at the boat launce like I did.
