Topic:   Stiff throttle control

posted 05-27-2003 03:19 PM ET (US)         The teleflex control for my Newtauk was stiff last year and seems to have gotten worse this year. When I went to start it up it was very difficult to move. Is there anything I could do to loosen it up a bit? I was looking at Overtons and they have what I thought was the same control, but after closer inspection, I noticed made by Ultraflex. I was thinking, until I saw the name, to replace the control. The tilt switch is gone and the crome is pitted...but other then that, is in OK shape, just stiff. Any ideas how to loosen it up? Has anyone used the Ultraflex controls? The one I was looking at was $180 with the trim switch in the handle. Thanks... DaveS
