Hey Bigshot, was in the local Kragen the other day and saw Techron fuel system cleaner and Techron injector cleaner. Nothing specifically for carbs by Techron (Chevron). So, I was wondering, is it the fuel system cleaner that you refer to? That one talked about injectors, lines, valves, piston surfaces, but not carbs. Also says not to use on air cooled two strokes, should be fine there though.Oh, though this question is open for all, I addressed it to Bigshot for, well, most obvious reasons, he has mentioned it a few times on this board, I dare say. ;)

The water seperator will only keep water & solids out. Some people are worried about pre mixed fuel [ oil ] not flowing through, don't worry, it also gets through. Sal |

I have a bottle here next to me. The right stuff is in the black bottle. It is called Fuel System Cleaner. The SKU number is 23968 67740 4. It has done wonders for me in each of my three boats. |

I use Techron system cleaner in my autos with excellent results. How do you use it in a 2-stroke using premixed fuel? The bottle seems to indicate that about one oz. per gallon is satisfactory. (add the twelve ounces in bottle to tank and fill with UP TO 12 gal. gas). This seems to indicate that a higher concentration is acceptable. Has any one had experience with Techron in 2-strokes at higher concentrations ? Or, do I just stick with 1 oz. per gal. of premix ? How about the fuel/oil ratio of the premix ? Should it be modified? (I run with 50:1 ) |

A pint won't effect pre-mix raio. I have used a pint in 1/2 galon of gas to decarbonize and unstick rings. If I have some gunk I use Berryman's or Techron, whatever is convenient. Berryman's is better and cheaper but harder to find and will melt paint, etc.....strong stuff. I usually do 1 pint to a 6 gal tank. |

Use Yamaha "Ring Free" - This is techron formulated for outboards - And directions for outboards. I'm told that the "shock" treatment of 2oz/gal for 64gal is overkill - Mechanic said 20gal is sufficient; But I'm doing 50gal since its been 3yrs. |
