Can anyone recommend a good source for a RPS? I have found several swing back seats that use a cooler or a baitwell as the base, but I'd like one similar (but less expensive hopefully than the Montauk)that allow space for a 18 - 24 gal tank underneath. |

There is an original teak RPS on Ebay at a ridiculously low bid so far. It is listed as a swing-back. Red sky at night. . . |

Thanks to all. The ones at G. G. Schmitt and Sons are nice, but at $600, they surely are not a deal. That's a lot more than I want to spend. Any other ideas? |

The Schmidt seat is better than the Montauk. The back/leaning post locks in place to provide a safety grab. Scout has a similar rig. The hand hold beside the seat is also a nice feature that can give comfort to a wifelike passenger or a child on a rough day. What is a Montauk seat worth? Maybe you can buy mine and I'll take the Schmidt. Surprising that Whaler gave up the lock in place design that was part of the flip back seat on my Sakonnet. |

Gene: Actually, Whaler resurrected the design in the Dauntless RPS. |
