Does any one know the name of that Phillips bit your suppose to use with bronze screws to keep from striping the head. I think it starts with an R

I don't quite understand what info you're after but a "reed" bit is something like a phllips bit.

The phillips and the Robertson are two different animals. A "Robertson" is more or less a square drive. I have seen some screws that would accept either (deck screws), but in general, a robertson bit will not fit into a phillips screw.

Telecaster, do you play guitar? I do also, but not a Tele, more of the Shredder variety, got 2 Jacksons and 2 Hamers. Rock on!! Jack.

I just got back from west marine in Portland. In case any one cares the bit is called a “Fearson”
