Seasoned experts please advise.....I recently bought a 1983 Montauk with same year Johnson outboard no VRO. After winterizing the engine today I noticed some oil leaking from the lower end and also half way up the engine in the back. The oil smelled like gas, and wiped right off. Maybee 10-12 drops on the ground under the skeg. Is this normal or should I be concerned??

Mike -

My guess is normal - if you just fogged your engine. Fogging adds heavy oil & heavy exhaust. Mine have always dripped something from the lower unit & upper exhaust after fogging.

See what the other guys say also.
