I recall seeing but cannot locate through a search the supplier for the rubber mold used to replicate the non skid deck pattern. I have several areas that could use this repair and would like to purchase the mold.
Does anyone recall the resource for this?
Has anyone ever tried making a mold themselves?

Here's some information from a post dated 2001. You may want to give them a try!
Gibco Flex-Mold makes a flexible mold for repairing non-skid. They have Whaler patterns and will send you a sample kit so you can get an exact match. It comes in various sizes a 2'x4' piece will cost about $100 and a 3'x10' piece will cost $270. It works great after a little practice. Give them a call.

I sent for the complete kit from Gibco about a year ago. They sent me all the stuff I needed to do my non-skid repairs, including a large section of their whaler non-skid mold.
Unfortunately, my whaler came with two different non-skid patterns; one for the main deck and gunwales, and another on the whaler-drive. The pattern Gibco sent matched the pattern on my whalerdrive, not my deck, so I returned it.
I kept all the other Gibco materials, including the gel-coat kit, the device used to test viscosity, and the preval sprayer, because I thought Gibco was going to be able to send me the correct mold. They worked at it for a while, but they couldn't get a proper mold on my timetable, so I went with another technique to resurface my deck. (Gibco may have it now. I have not checked.)
I'd be willing to make you a heck of a deal on my Gibco stuff if you're interested. It hasn't been opened.

Just ordered the smaple kit. I only need to fix about a 3" spot so I might be able to do it with the sample.....thanks.

Alkar, what color gelcoat? I am repairing a '1971 21' Outrage and a 1988 20' Guardian (haze grey).
Anyone have a used mold they want to sell?

Another good reason to have a "Tips for new users" page.
If I had known about the CAPS thing up front my name would have been in lower case.

I'll bet there are many people Not posting for that very reason.....scared of getting yelled at for doing something improper. Actually, I can read the caps better than the lower case and do so with all my business paper work.
