none of the nav lights worked when I bought the boat
I got the port/stern ones working, just needed new bulbs and a good cleaning.
the stern light however didn't want to cooperate as nicely.
there is some electrical tape covering where the thick grey wire connnects to the base pole, and further down more tape.
I took off the tape at the lower location and there's 2-3 wires in there and I don't have a clue what may be going on.
Should I just buy a whole new pergo stern light assembly?

The stern light assemblies are no longer available OEM...
Try and fix the one you have..
The light on top of the pole is still available from Perko should you need the fixture..
It is easy to replace wires if necessary... Just check for continuity from end to end.. If no continuity, then check and/or replace the wires..

If you choose to get a new whole new reliable light, I would love to purchase you old one to restore. I would gladly give you $25 plus shipping - that should help with the cost of a new one.
