A friend gave me a 2 seats of a Aquasport boat with alum. pedestal , the base (flange 8" aprox. 8 holes aprox. Need suggestions to a proper installation in the floor. Im afraid install the seats and break the floor.
I dont know floor thickness. Whaler 13' 1993 help me guys, thanks. lselles12@yahoo.com

You will notice that there really isn’t a “floor” to bolt your seats. Whalers (especially the 13’) is sort of a foam coffee cup with a fiber glass shell. The fiberglass is hard but nothing else is hard under the fiberglass (except for a few pieces of wood). The 13’ only has one small piece of wood under the floor toward the stern. This piece is to attach the battery box.

There are ways to "attach" fasteners to the floor. But IMHO the seats with 8-inch pedestals can not be successfully attached. A two hundred pound man sitting in the seats will quickly rip the pedestals out of the "floor."
