Got a stupid question that I can't clarify from the Clymer manual.

I have a 1982 90 HP Evinrude that I (proudly) overhauled (replaced pistons, bored cylinders, etc.). I took it out today and it runs rough, doesn't idle well and lacks power.

I have the following questions:

1. What is the numbering of the cylinders? Is the starboard top the no. 1, the port top the no. 2, the starboard lower number 3 and the port lower number 4?

2. When I swap the two spark plug wires on the starboard or port banks, there is no difference. Do both cylinders on each bank fire simultaneously, i.e. do both port cylinders fire simultaneously and the starboard cylinders fire simultaneously?

3. Are there adjustments for the carburetors?

Thanks in advance,

Richard
