What is the purpose of the small electrical box (4"x4"x2"deep), in the stern well, on the starboard side of the 18 Outrage? I don't have this box on my Outrage, but I see it on others and it should be there. I have 4 mounting holes, but no box. Is this some sort of electrical box for the stern light?

Can this still be purchased?

It's the 50 amp fuse for the boat's house power. It's a hard to find item with a pop-up button on the top. Search the OEM section, where Jimh has given us information on where to get one of these. I don't know if the switch's desert tan plastic enclosure box was Whaler specific, or comes from the switch manufacturer.

Actually the box described is the Main circuit breaker, not a fuse.

I do not believe the exact same circuit breaker or beige housing is available anymore but numerous substitutes have been discussed in the past.

Thanks for clueing me in on what I am missing here.

I performed a search on the site using the circuit breaker information and found that the 50 amp breaker can be purchased at www.e-sonic.com. The breaker was made by ETA of Germany, and the part number is
41-3-S14-LN2-50

Although there are 197 available in stock, there is no additional information or pictures on the site.

Does anyone know whether this part number includes the outer cover?

The plastic molded cover was made by Whaler or a supplier. The circuit breaker was made by an electrical supplier.

Extensive information about replacement circuit breakers is available in an article I posted about six months ago to the OEM Source Forum.

For your convenience I have appended a hyperlink to this article which will take you to it:

Thanks Jim, I should have broadened my search. I believe I also got bit by the "OR" acronym being in that post and not Outrage. Lesson learned.
