Early last summer I promised to provide periodic reports on the performance of my Line-X components. I have nothing but good news to share. My custon-shaped Line-X keel-guard is performing perfectly. No measurable loss in performance, perfect adhesion, and complete protection. The Line-X cost less that the alternatives and, in my opinion, looks more sanitary and provides better protection. It also allows for easy custom shaping, so it can be wider and thicker in the area that is subject to the most stress (and contact) during beaching. (My guard starts as a narrow strip near the bow, but the strip widens out to about 7+" at the "sticking point" about 7' aft of the bow.)
I'm similarly happy with the performance of the Line-X on the decks, hatches, compartments, and dash panels.
The most challenging test will be the summer in the San Juan islands, as we often have to beach on a fairly rough beach to off-load people, groceries, and other supplies. I'll report again in the fall.
