I've got a gallon of bottom paint that over two years old, and about half full.I know normal paint would be fine, is marine bottom paint any different?

The copper compound can settle out, Ryan. It would just need a vigorous and extended stirring.Red sky at night. . . JB |

Thanks, JB.Thats what I'll have to do, then. I want to put one last coat on my 11-Sport, at $50 per gallon I'll make do with what I have. |

I know sometimes freezing temps can effect paint.I don't know if it is a factor in your situation.pb |

I hope not.Its been in the unheated part of the garuge, but up againts the back wall and on the other side of that wall is the heated basement. I think it should be okay. |

Ryan, assuming it hasn't frozen which will make it go bad. To make it easier to use the next time store the gallon of paint upside down. That way when you go to use it, you flip it over and the solids will be on the top. Much easier to mix than trying to scrape it off the bottom. This works for any type of paint. Also if possible store the liquid in the smallest container that will hold the liquid. |

2 years is not old. I have crap that is at least 5 years old and works fine. I bet half the gallons at boater's world are pushing 2 years old, especially if in green or something. |
