I have a 1993 225 hp Johnson Ocean Runner outboard. The warning horn is barely audible with the engine off. When the engine is running its impossible to hear the horn. Is it likely that the horn is corroded or otherwise in need of replacement? So far the engine has never appeared to overheat and has never dropped into s.l.o.w. mode but I would like to be sure. I performed the test by grounding the two temperature sensors and the horn sounds very weakly. I had a 2000 Johnson 70hp before and you could hear the warning horn for 300 feet. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Karl

Mr. Mako Does the warning horn do all this on a 1993 motor? You may be right, the manual describes different sound patterns for different malfunctions? The part number would be nice, if its handy. KArl |
