I've screwed in the fender hooks for a Montauk mooring cover, but the Mills delivery doesn't include install instructions. My last step is screwing in the "eye strap" which is the metal loop that screws "on the forward centerline underneath Gunwale". My question is whether the strap is horizontal (as I look as the bow straight on from in front of it) or vertical.

Mills is closed now so I can't get a quick answer.

Maybe the following diagram might help:

1) The "strap" is the _/--\_ part of the diagram, set horizontally; the --O is the snap hook from the shock cord at the bow, so is O--

------O_/--\_O-------

2) Here, the | is the strap placed vertically with the right hook shown.

|O----
-

Like I said, the cover came with no instructions except for a list of hardware included and the description for the eye strap I included above.

Thanks for any input...

Pierre

Well, if you're into trivia, the answer is #1. But thanks for playing....
