Classic Boston Whaler boats usually have their batteries protected in a desert tan battery box. Unfortunately, these are no longer available. Even finding a white battery box can be a chore. I spotted a vendor who has some available: The Noco Company "NOCO® Snap-Top™ Battery Boxes are made from the purest polyethylene plastic to resist cracks and corrosion. Available in Group 24, Group 27, and Group 24-31 battery sizes. All Snap-Top™ battery boxes meet U.S.C.G Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) requirement number 183.420 and ABYC E-10.7. Standard colors are: Black, Yacht White, and Red." [After ten years the linked page no longer is available; see below for newer link.--jimh] |

[Ten years later] I'm looking for a source for a group 24 battery box in white. All I'm able to find is black. It doesn't look like Noco has white boxes listed in their catalog. Many years ago our Boston Whaler had a white box with a red lid. I'd even be okay with that. The only ones with red lids seem to be in the United Kingdom. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

No more of the group 24s here, but the 27 with a shim or two could work: http://www.foreandaftmarine.com/PO-17826.htm |

Ten year later update: NOCO still makes battery boxes. See http://www.nocousa.com/pdf/Noco-Catalog-BatteryStorage.pdf Their literature no longer mentions white as a color option. |
