Howdy All,

I have a 1974 montauk, and I am tring to figure out the best way to secure the rails back to the hull. The previous owner tried glue, but I am sure that is not the way to go. Do any of yall have any true solutions for my problem? The original holes where the rails were mounted are in bad shape, most likely not able to re-use.

Do a search on hole repairs and you will find a ton of excellent recommendationsn re: fixing the holes so that the rails can be re-installed.

It's easy, and can be accomplished in one weekend (allowing time for epoxy to cure). The necessary tools you probably already own, the the materials are available at your local marine store.

Regards,

Dave
