how long will it last in the can? I bought a gallon of Interlux Bottomkote ACT ($110 eek), and only used about a quart. I expect this application to last at least one year. Will I be able to crack open that same gallon a year or two later and use it?

If not, I want to try to sell the remaining paint to someone who will use it. Money is money.

I couldn't find any information about this on Interlux's website.

Get your butt over to Lowes and buy some of the empty paint cans. They are available in all sizes but I suggest two of the quart size. Fill them up and put the lids on and your paint will last a couple of seasons. It is the air in your gallon can that will give you problems. If you are really concerned, there is a product like caulk that you squirt in the seam of the can where the lid meets the lip. This will also help. If you notice on Interlux cans, they all have a white gasket type thing in the groove of the can. This is great while the can is new on the shelf but when you open and close the can alot it bunches up and prevents a good seal. When I varnish, I open the can and use a small amount and then close the can for a day or two. When I open the can there is a layer of dried paint on top. Cone filters , new cans, yadda yadda...... Kind of crazy what we go through for these boats!!
