I need to replace the existing gasoline intake hose located under the port side deck. There are access covers for the hose connections. Looks like an easy fix to remove the hose and replace it with a new one. My problem, when something looks simple it is not! Any advise you can offer will be helpful.

Remove the hose from the tank. Remove the fill cap deck plate from the deck. Carefully look to see if you have any grounding wires that you might break. They get very brittle and one should be wrapped around the hose and attatched to the deck plate and the tank. Pull out the hose, measure hose length, attach new hose to deck plate, slide back into posistion, attach hose to tank, attach deck plate to deck. John

What boat are we talking about here, 18 Outrage? You should look at the reference section just so you get a view about what is really under the deck. continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/centerDeckRepair.html

I know that on my 18 the run up the channel to the fill or overflow isn't quite a straight run like the 22 seems to be.

I would at the least run some string under the deck so you could fish the new hose back under the deck.
