Rookie mistake last time out. Left the plug in on my 18 Outrage while it sat on the trailer (covered). We had enough rain that the cover leaked enough and the sump filled up with water. Bilge pump ran until the battery was dead. I had assumed (incorrectly) that it rained a lot and the pump ran for a long time. Later I discovered that the pump was either clogged and/or not pumping at all so it just ran and ran. I was lucky it didn't really rain a lot or the boat would have been full!

Since the battery was dead and needed charging, I decided to attach one of the projects on my list -- moving the cooler cleats to better fit the 94qt cooler the previous owner added long enough ago that the cushion snaps are permamently bonded to the cooler. Ignoting the advice I had read about redriling holes in the cleats, I decided to drill new holes and fill the old ones. Of course the drill bit came out with very WET wood. After that, I felt fairly foolish as I filled the old holes and put a good dab of silicone on the screews for the new holes!

I had already planned to pull up the fuel tank cover over the next winter as I suspected issues under there (see http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/007673.html
